We are launching a unique three-hour online training session:
How should shipping companies address critical environmental issues in their Sustainability Reports?
Timing: upon enquiry.
This training will be delivered privately to single companies.
Dr. Pablo Rodas-Martini —a renowned environmental shipping industry expert and the Lead Author of the independent reviews by Gliese Foundation* of the environmental reporting by the twelve largest container carriers and major cruise companies— will deliver a unique three-hour online training session directed to the staff of shipping companies in charge of Sustainability Reports. We are referring to container carriers, bulkers, tankers, OSVs, ferries, and tugs. The training could also be of interest to staff from companies that need to learn about the environmental reporting of shipping companies, such as lenders, lessors, insurers, shipbrokers, and shipmanagement.
*The reviews by Gliese Foundation can be seen at the following website: www.gliesefoundation.org/environmental-reports
The training will explain the relevant topics and concerns that should be included in Sustainability Reports by the shipping companies and will inform why and how they should be presented to deliver high-quality Sustainability Reports. The training will illustrate each case with best practices and pertinent examples from companies in the maritime industry.
The training will cover the following topics:
· Materiality assessment;
· Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
· Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions: goals, and scopes 1 and 2;
· Energy efficiency measures;
· Biodiversity impact;
· Wastewater and ballast water;
· Ship recycling;
· GRI standards;
· ISO and other standards;
· Suppliers.
This training is directed to the staff of companies that have never produced a Sustainability Report or have only produced one or two; therefore, it will cover all basic topics. A more advanced session will take place in the coming weeks for the staff of maritime companies that have already been producing Sustainability Reports for several years. Staff from cruise companies can also take this training, but the HORECA side of cruises will not be covered in this session.
Price: upon enquiry. If your company is interested, please contact us for a quotation.
Limit: To ensure a fruitful Q&A session, no more than 15 participants will be accepted.
Advisory Session: In addition to the training session, a participating company will be given a complimentary 30-minute private advisory session, during which additional company-specific questions will be answered.
Certificate: An old-style wax-sealed maritime certificate of participation will be delivered by regular mail to each participant.
